About Me

“The impulse to save something good for a better place later is the signal to spend it now…Similarly, the impulse to keep to yourself what you have learned is not only shameful, it is destructive. Anything you do not give freely and abundantly becomes lost to you.”

Annie Dillard, The Writing Life

Hi there. I’m Diana. I’m a soccer mom by day and military officer by night.* I write about learning to write, and anything else that I find culturally or personally interesting. I started writing when I left active duty and, through fits and starts, I taught myself to write. I have managed to publish a few articles in print and online media and professional journals. My manuscript for my first attempt at fiction is going through developmental edits now. Fun stuff. Thanks for visiting.

*I’m a military officer one weekend a month, two weeks a year. Sometimes those involve nights.
